Adrift the stars

Adrift the stars and the morning light
She opens her eyes to new mystery
Beauty traced, ignite; her soul burning bright
Coaxing light and dark in new mutiny
In this balance of nature that she makes
Her breath bursts forth a river of daisies
Enough for my heart that she shyly takes
Enough for my dreams floating in the seas
For what is love if not slain by her eyes
If not to resurrect where she last left
To hold the moon and know that one can rise
From oblivion to where her heart is kept
But let the world snuff out these dreams and leap
For my kiss resounds softly in her sleep.
